Timber Grove Elementary School Reviews

Timbergrove students and staff have made my granddaughter feel so welcomed and comfortable her first day at a new school! Back To School Night was outstanding! The fourth grade teachers presented an excellent powerpoint presentation.

I have two kinds in Timber Grove and am very satisfied with the quality of education they receive. The communication between teachers and parents is ok, but I wish the school had a better website (and wasted less paper on newsletters and announcements)

Timber Grove is a good school with some great teachers. We've got an active PTA but one that revolves mostly around and caters mostly to the younger grades rather than including the entire school. It used to have a very open/friendly atmosphere but with the new administration feels a bit closed and volunteers not made to feel welcome. Extracurricular activities are varied with Chimes, Linus Club, Volleyball, Band, Student Council, Sports Days and Photography club. I think it's great that those teachers give their time so freely to the children of Timber Grove. I do think that the administartion at Timber Grove should not cater to any specific group of parents at the school. We are all important.

I feel that the academic programs in this school could be strong if they were taught well. The teachers are unaccessable to the parents and there seems to be no extra help for anyone. Teachers basically seem to be unfamiliar with the newer curriculums and seem to be learning with the children instead of learning first and then teaching! There is no communication with the principal and the assisstant principal seems to handle all problems. What exactly does the principal do? I am unaware of extra curricular activities as many children are bussed and I don't see where there is a late bus for those children that would like to particpate in after school activities. On the whole I think that this school is far lacking the environment for a good teaching situation. Students are turned off to learning in this school. It is very sad.

I am a parent of a soon-to-be 4th grader. I have been impressed with the principal/teacher/parent relationship since my daughter has been at Timber Grove. I feel my child is safe in the school's environment, that she is academically challenged and enjoys learning and interacting with her peers. I'm so impressed with this school that my youngest daughter will be leaving a high profile preschool to attend Timber Grove in the fall for her kindergarten experience.

Very Upset with the quality of this elementary school. The teachers teach to the lowest denominator. The teachers are more concerned with the state examinations and how they reflect on them, then taking time to actually teach the students. Education at Timber Grove is a chore not exciting and fun for the children. As well, there is zero communication between the teachers and the parents. Not all happy with the quality of education provided by this school, hence the enormous amount of private schools in the area....

My daughter has been at the school 3yrs. I visit schools around the country and I must say that Timbergrove is exceptional! I am very pleased with the Teachers & Administration, the curriculum, and the parent involvement. It is as close as you can come in a public school to private school standards. Kudos!

I have had two children attend this school and I have to say that I am impressed. Also, the 'full day kindergarten' has been a remarkable improvement and it shows in the reading and math skills of the students entering the first grade in the school year 2004-2005. The teachers are very pleasant, knowlegeable, and always appear to have our children's best interest in mind. Having interacted with several elementary schools, Timber Grove is by far the best. I am proud to be a parent of a bright first grader, who is very excited about school!
