Perry Hall Christian School Reviews

Great School, my last child graduated this year and the Christian foundation he received, along with the academics has made the transition to college extremely easy. If your looking for a great private school that offers a lot of extra-curricular activities, PHCS is perfect!

We currently have three children at this school and we love it. The teachers and staff members have left a great impression on us. The fact that the vast majority of teachers are certified (and some have advanced degrees) is very impressive. We have also noticed that every teacher with which we have had the pleasure of working has a strong faith. Recently, we have been especially encouraged by the exciting future plans that have been shared through newsletters, the website, and conversations with staff and board members. The fact that increasing academic rigor is at the forefront of the school's plans is very important to our family. Perhaps the thing we like the most is that our kids love it! We highly recommend PHCS!

I couldn't be happier with Perry Hall Christian. We have four boys in the elementary school. Our boys have over the past three years been fortunate to have all but one of the teachers, K5 - 6th grade. I walked away from the back to school night in September so grateful that we have made this school our home. Each of the teachers were clearly committed to not only academic excellence, but also Christian character development. The long time 1st grade teacher transformed our non-English speaking adopted son from China into an on grade-level reader over the nine months he spent in her classroom. I could go on and on, but when you mix this level of quality with the value that PHCS' tuition represents, I find them hard to beat.

As a parent of a middle schooler, I am very pleased with Perry Hall Christian School. My son is receiving a quality education from fantastic teachers. He is being challenged to become more self-disciplined and growing academically and spirtitually. Most importantly, he is being taught from teachers who love and serve the Lord and have a Christian world-view.

I have three children. One is a graduate of PHCS, one will graduate this year, and one more still in PHCS for several years. I am proud of the education that my children have received and are receiving at PHCS. The teachers do care about the students on a personal level. The educational standards have improved dramatically since the negative review in 2004. My graduate has done exceedingly well at a good college. My soon-to-be graduate has excelled in the new honors program including Calculus. My kids have also learned to love God and people while at PHCS. Well worth the sacrifice.

As an elementary school, PHCS gets 5 stars. It has a tremendous environment and atmosphere, as well as outstanding faculty who genuinely care about their students in and out of the classroom. The same can be said about the upper grades, however the academic challenge may not be as great as some would like. It will be great for most students, but high-schoolers that would like to prepare to attend a university that has stringent and demanding academic standards may be better served at a private prep school.

Perry Hall Christian is fantastic! The teachers are wonderful and they really care about each and every student. They go that extra mile to help your child in any way they can. The teachers and the staff want your child to succeed, they want your child to be ready for college (any college) and they offer an excellent curriculum in a positive environment to ensure all of those things. PHCS has a great music program, art program and a wonderful computer lab. The gym teacher is fantastic and well organized. PHCS may not be home to an expensive Calvert Hall sports arena but our kids are committed and enjoy PHCS' sports just the same. I am a proud parent of three PHCS students. My children have been in other schools, and I will tell you from experience that PHCS offers the very best in private school education!

Fellow Parents, although I know this is a bit unusual but I thought I'd give my piece about this school. PHCS is excellent for students that want to go into missions right after highschool or later in life. However, it is not a college prepatory school. I know and have talked with many students who are graduates from this school including myself. We all have the same story. We struggle to keep up in college due to the inadequacy curriculum. It appears that students who go on to Christian schools from PHCS do fine. But the story is far differnt for those children that later attend public colleges and universities. I will not come right out to say that PHCS offers substandard education but...it's close. This is simply something to keep in mind as you make your decision to enroll your children.
