St. Philip Neri Elementary School Reviews

St. Philip Neri School does not have a caring, warm atmosphere for children. Some of the teachers are terrfic, but the administration is unresponsive and rude. I would not recommend this school, as it is hit or miss as to whether or not students will be in a nurturing classroom. The academic standards are very low, but some of the teachers have unreasonably harsh expectations for the kids. The Principal refuses to deal with problem issues (ie: drugs in middle school, incompetent staff members).

I have been part of the St. Philip Neri School community since 1994. Both my children attended the school from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I was always pleased with the administration, faculty, and staff. Both of my sons went on to a four year private high school. I highly recommend the school to others.

I just graduated from this school within the last year or so, and am currently attending a public highschool, and I must say that my school life at my new school is much better than the one I had at St. Philip Neri. Granted, I'm sure that many of the problems we had branched from the type of studens my classmates were (rambunctous, non-cooperative), but they could be fairly difficult to control. However, when myself and several others were victims of heavy bullying that even extended to one threatening us, we received no help from the principal or the majority of teachers. They seemed to want to remain oblivious to the fact that such things could even occur in this school. While I did have those unfortunate happenings in 7-8grade, the K-6 grades that I was there was very educational and enjoyable. --L

I am very happy with St.Philp Neri. Both of my children do very well there. When they have had problems in certain areas (Math), additional help was always available. The teachers there are very caring and involved. I wouldn't think of putting them in a public school. They do get a lot of homework to reinforce what they were taught that day in class. I would much rather have them spending time doing homework then watching tv. The children are overall well behaved and the school emphasis parent involvement.
