Where to begin a story?
      "Somebody needs to be the singer; get Cameron to do it, he's crazy." Little did Cameron Martin's college friends know he had been writing lyrics and poems since childhood. Not only was he just crazy enough to jump around onstage, he also had something to say.
    On Cameron Martin's latest release, 'across the night...' he investigates some exciting issues that usually don't make it into pop songs. With his plaintive rasp, favorably compared to a hybrid of Robert Plant and Sinead O'Connor, we are taken on a musical journey with Cameron Martin's  homespun lyrical wit as the signposts.
    From the US military's battle preparedness on 'arm ya', to a white guy's love for his Jamaican girlfriend, and her father's insistence on their marrying, on 'raia'. All songs are immediate and uplifting.
     The music on 'across the night..' is just as beautiful. A perfect compliment to Cameron Martin's soulful voice. The tracks aren't just backdrops for a clever lyricist, they're as engaging as the stories being told.
     Cameron Martin is one of those singer's whose songs breeze through your cranial cavity and get stuck somewhere between your pleasure center and your moral compass. I can't stop humming them!
