Once upon a time Baltimore sidewalks rolled up after sundown. No more. Today, there’s always music in Baltimore. Top-name national acts play at the Baltimore Arena and Pier Six Concert Pavillion. Local music venues revolve around the Inner Harbor area, hip and happening clubs in Fell’s Point, O’Donnell Square in Canton and Federal Hill. The Power Plant and Power Plant Live provide the electric sounds of salsa, rock ‘n roll, disco, and jazz. Get mellow at the Funk Box with Baltimore’s best R&B mixed with a little zydeco and reggae and Bertha’s is local favorite for jazz.

The local classical music cache includes weekly performances each season by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Peabody Symphony Orchestra entertains with diverse performances and recordings in MP3 format. Every Baltimore neighborhood loves music. There are many major and “mini” music festivals around town especially during summer months.
