Title: Tupac © 2009
Description: this is not the final stage of the back of the piece. A huge fist emerges from the middle of the cross clutching a rose, with the words to the poem "A rose that grew from concrete" painted on the top of his skull. On is back in the middle of cross Tupac had the word "Exodus" tattooed. I use the fist to represent his "Exodus" from the slums and poverty to fame and fortune, it also represents black power. The rose represents Tupac. The poem he wrote speaks about a rose growing from solid concrete, no soil to nurture it but yet it grew. I see Tupac as that rose. He survived the turmoils of the streets and his environment and yet grew.
